Hi,
I would like to know if anybody of you has detailed information about SAM 2 strategy proposed by some donors (mainly ECHO) as an approach to integrate in nutrition intervention in the Sahel region.

Thanks for reaching out

SAM2.0 is now called No Wasted Lives. It is an inter-agency coalition made up of UNICEF, ACF International, Children's Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF), EU ECHO and the UK's Department for International Development (DfID). The coalition aims to double the number of children treated for severe acute malnutrition by 2020. The aim is to reach over 6 million admissions worldwide by 2020.

To do so, the coalition will work on three axis: an Advocacy Agenda to reposition SAM as a political prioritiy, a Technical Accelerator to identify innovations and technical developments and accelerate their integration into policy and practice, and a Donor Forum to coordinate and optimise donor investments.

The coalition was launched at the UNGA side event on the Decade of Action on nutrition, in New York on September 20th.

More information will be available on www.nowastedlives.org

For now, I would suggest emailing info@nowastedlives.org . They will be happy to email you a brochure of the initiative.
