How would consumption of Multiple micronutrient powder (MNP) and LNS (lipid-based Nutrition Supplement) affect Minimum acceptable diet score, or minimum acceptable dietary diversity score?

Hello
In my understanding is that DDS are used to help assess dietary adequacy and the need for interventions using things such as MNP or LNS products. Therefore, LNS and MNP are not usually included in the score. However, I am sure some groups will have adapted DDS to include these and the best way to deal with these special nutritional products in your analysis should depend on the research/monitoring question you are trying to answer.

Standard guidance on DDS has been issued by FAO and FANTA, e.g. http://www.fao.org/3/a-i1983e.pdf and more recently http://www.fao.org/3/a-i5486e.pdf which mentions fortified foods and special prodcuts

I hope that is of some use. Good luck with the work, Andrew
