Treatment of SAM children without Routine medicine

There are many occasions where CMAM program run out of routine medicines mainly Amoxicillin yet the provision of Plumpy Nut continues. Is there any study done so far to see the effectiveness of treatment of SAM using PLumpy Nut only with out providing Amoxicillin?
