I would like to know if there is any contraindications regarding the use of OSR in children and adolescents suffering from SAM. If its use can adversely affect drug absorption or cause any harm.

Hi Amadou, ORS should not be given to SAM children suffering from diarrhea as it cause electrolyte (mainly Sodium and Potassium) imbalance and children can die. So, Rehydration solution for Malnutrition (ReSoMal) should be used for treatment of dehydration in SAM children. Thanks
