TRAINING OPPORTUNITY: Infant and Young Child Feeding in Emergencies (IYCF-E) in Turkey

Dear Colleagues,
Save the Children has secured funding to conduct an Infant and Young Child Feeding in Emergencies (IYCF-E) training in the MEE region due to an urgent need being identified through the Syria response. This would be the first SC-sponsored IYCF-E training in the MEE Region for Nutrition Advisors/Programme Managers from organisations working in the region. Now the first round of applications is completed SC is delighted to open up the invitation to other organisations. Note there are just 5 places remaining.
Please find details below and make sure you nominate your participants (if you haven’t already) by submitting the attached application form by Wednesday 20th August.
Location: Istanbul, Turkey
Dates: Sunday 28th September – Thursday 2nd October
Attendees: Individuals who manage and implement IYCF-E programmes including Save the Children Nutrition Advisors/ Program Managers, USAID Food for Peace partners, other interested individuals managing IYCF programmes in the region
General agenda (specific agenda to be sent nearer the training date):
• Background and theory of IYCF-E
• International Code of Marketing of Breast-milk Substitutes
• Introduction to Save the Children’s IYCF-E Toolkit
• IYCF-E in the Syria response (case studies)
Estimated costs (in USD) for Participants for IYCF-E Training in Istanbul, Turkey:
• $970 (hotel for 6 nights at The Kalyon Hotel, Istanbul)
• $60 (visa for US citizen – please verify cost for other nationalities:
http://konsolosluk.gov.tr/usa/en/Vize.aspx )
• $120 (dinner @ $20/day for 6 days, lunch will be covered during training)
• Airport Transportation – Ataturk Airport to Hotel: $60-$80 per car, Sabiha Gokcen Airport to Hotel: $160-$190 per car
• Flights – dependent on where participants are traveling from
• Estimated Total: $1,300 + Flights
How to apply: Please request the application form from either Nicki Connell or Britni Burkhardsmeier (contact details below) in the first instance. This application form is to be fully completed by the participant and their Line Manager and submitted by Wednesday 20th August 2014 to the below recipients ONLY:

Dear Nicke,
SOVA NGO is implementing nutrition program such as TSFP,BSFP,and OTP and community based activities such as NHHP and IYCF therefore interested this IYCF training in TURKEY and our operational areas are in Somalia so can we participate?
