According to Myanmar National Guideline, Ministry of Health recommend to provide sprinkle one sachet daily. In Unicef technical guideline, they recommend the same dosage for daily consumption as one sachet daily for 120 days/year for a children. For the distribution, they recommends to distribute first round for 60 days (2 months) followed by 4 months gap and then second round for 60 days (2 months). But, we are not sure what will be the dosage and distribution guideline for the population who also received RICE SOYA BLEND.
In my view it is important to always look at the likely intake range when designing a programme like this to assess whether nutrient intake is (1) likely to be adequate and (2) whether there is a likely hood that the UL (Upper Tolerable Intake) for nutrients may be exceeded. To do this a spreadsheet tool, e.g. NutVal www.nutval.net, should be used and various diets compared. In this case it would probably be important to look at diets containing the RSB plus MNP at both the planned dose and what would happen if a child consumed all of their energy needs from the food assistance items (which may of course happen for short periods during a food crisis). At the end of the day the risks of deficiency versus excess intakes need to be balanced and decisions made. But I would urge you to look at calculated nutrient intakes under different scenarios before you make the decision.

So, if you have any other link or download spreadsheet on that tools, would you mind to share through this page or with email. (you can reach me through nicholustintzaw@gmail.com)
