Concern Worldwide is a Dublin-based non-governmental, international, humanitarian organization dedicated to reducing suffering and eliminating extreme poverty in the world's poorest countries. Concern Worldwide engages in development work and emergency humanitarian assistance in many countries in Africa and Asia. Concern operates in 25 of the world?s poorest countries, helping people to achieve major and long-lasting improvements in their lives. Concern supports Livelihood Security, Water & Environmental Sanitation, Community Education, HIV and AIDS, and responds emergencies.

The Consortium for Research on Food Assistance for Nutritional Impact (REFANI) is an international, 3-year research project funded by the Department for International Development (DFID). The REFANI project will examine the nutritional impact and cost-effectiveness of cash and/or voucher-based food assistance interventions. The study aims is to create new evidence to inform decisions on the management of acute undernutrition in emergencies.

REFANI Study 3 will be conducted in IDP communities in Banadir region. The study will use both quantitative and qualitative methods.

Lead the REFANI study team, ensure all study data is collected on time and to a high quality, and that all stakeholders are kept informed of progress throughout the study.

? Make contact and confirm arrangements with relevant government officers, community leaders and others to communicate relevant and appropriate information about the study, and to ensure access and safe conduct of the study
Coordinate logistical matters within Concern to facilitate the enumerators? access to the study sites and ensure that a sufficient quantity of the required data collection tools are available.

? Participate actively in data collection alongside the field team workers and provide guidance in the field for data collection team, including recruiting focus groups
Monitor the data collection process to ensure protocols and procedures are being followed and provide guidance to team members on any challenges that they encounter
Ensure all completed questionnaires and tapes are collected and properly labelled and stored. Ensure tapes are of good quality and will work for transcription

? Review focus group notes daily for assessment of content depth and quality

? Review all completed questionnaires to ensure clarity and accuracy
Ensure defaulters are followed up as described in the protocol, including follow up with telephone interviews

? Keep daily summary records regarding activities of the day

Convene daily team meetings to ensure camaraderie, effective communication, and quality control
Maintain contact and effective communication with the UCL Study Coordinator
Carry out any other project duties as deemed necessary and appropriate

? Degree in nutrition, public health, epidemiology or similar

? Minimum of 2 years? experience in nutrition interventions
? Hands-on experience in taking anthropometric measurements.

? Previous quantitative and qualitative research experience
? Experience of implementing humanitarian programs in Somalia
? Experience of cash transfer programming
? Experience of using digital data gathering systems.
? Experience of planning and coordinating field based project activities with displaced communities.

? Strong planning and organizational skills
? Interpersonal communication skills
? Verbal communication skills
? Problem-solving skills
? Project management capabilities
