A food and nutrition security advisor, to contribute to projects and capacity building of other professionals across the world in support of improved global food and nutrition security.

You will join Wageningen Centre for Development Innovation (CDI). CDI stands for ‘Knowledge in Action’ and supports organisations and people to strengthen their capacity for sustainable development.

We are looking for a professional, preferably with experience in developing countries, with a specific interest in individual and organisational capacity development for food and nutrition security. A good understanding of the broad concept of inclusive and sustainable food systems and food and nutrition security is required. Understanding of linkages between nutrition security and agriculture and/or food and nutrition security in an urbanising world is an asset. As a food and nutrition security advisor you will demonstrate the ability to link theory and practice. You have analytical and technical skills to contribute to project design, implementation and monitoring and evaluation, and an understanding of multi-stakeholder learning in change processes. In addition to project implementation, you will contribute to the implementation of capacity development programmes in food and nutrition security, including international mid-career professional courses. Assignments abroad involve travel to Sub-Saharan Africa, Asia and, to a lesser extent, Latin America.

Excellent spoken and written English is essential. Fluency in other languages, in particular French or Spanish, is an asset. Ideally, you will have a MSc degree in Human Nutrition or in a disciplinary field related to food and nutrition security, with a strong background in the social sciences and in interdisciplinary approaches.
