Recently, I saw a suggestion to add micronutrient sprinkles to the distribution of plumpy doz and/or supplementary plumpy. To my understanding this would mean duplication of efforts and not complementing. Am I correct or wrong?

Dear Anonymous 432

I don't understand the rationale of this approach which may lead to excessive intake of some nutrients.

If some think that the currently used products miss some nutrients, they should give the rationale for this opinion. In there is a strong case for insufficent intake of children taking these products, however, the best approach would be to revise the fortification formula of existing products rather than adding a new one. Ideally, this should be supported by efficacy trials.

Thanks Andre! That is what I wanted to hear as I am of the same opinion.
