It requires about 7000 excess calories to create a kg of body weight.  So the rate of weight gain will be governed by how much a person is eating,  If a person conusmes 4000 kcal and his basal metabolic rate requires 2000 kcal/d, then it will be 4 days to gain 1 kg.  mark
