My name is Melanie Sudetic and I am working with Helen Keller International as a Mickey Leland International Hunger Fellow – a program of the Congressional Hunger Center. Every quarter the fellowship hosts a virtual learning event organized by a select few of us for the entirety of the cohort, totaling ten people (this event is not open to the public). We are looking for three speakers who can discuss the following:

1. National expert to discuss the current nutrition/food security situation in Gaza or Sudan.

2. Expert to discuss gender issues related to nutrition/food security in fragile contexts.

3. Expert to discuss rebuilding food systems in postwar contexts.

This panel centering on Nutrition & Food Security in Fragile Contexts will serve as a space and launching pad for fellows to learn, reflect, and discuss on the most current and pressing global issues faced by our food systems today. As emerging change agents across international development, humanitarian and food systems sectors, we will benefit tremendously from your expertise and contribution to this panel.

When: Wednesday, July 10th at 9:00 am EST for a duration of 1-2 hours. Each speaker will have 15-20 minutes to present and we will have a Q&A session amongst the panelists after all three presentations.

Where: Virtual via Private Zoom

Please Note: All guest speakers will receive compensation for their contributions.

***If you are interested and available to speak at this event, please email the following Leland Fellows by June 7th and we can discuss further details: Kaila Balch [kaila.balch@care.org], Erin Mercado [emercado@ideglobal.org], and Melanie Sudetic [msudetic@hki.org] (please include all three fellows in your email).

Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions, comments or concerns.
