I'm sorry if this has been discussed in the past. I was asked how much it costs on average to treat a child for SAM. I am not satisfied with what I found doing some internet research and I was wondering if anybody has a good estimate. Thank you in advance! N.B the questionner is aware of the CMAM tool announced in a previous discussion, http://www.en-net.org.uk/question/361.aspx but is looking for an average cost if this has been estimated

I'm not going to answer the question. I'll answer a different (related) one ... The costs per DALY of CMAM programs ranges between about US$20 and US$50. That is very cheap. Knowing cost without knowing what is being purchased is not very meaningful. The DALY is the standard unit of health purchase.
