Hi there, I am about to start analysing a large amount of nutrition data, and would like to prepare an excel spreadsheet with cross tabulations between one question and another, for example analysing the household food security score with levels of acute malnutrition in children U5. Are there existing nutrition-specific spreadsheets which take this into consideration, or any recommendations about how to begin the analysis? My experience is limited, and appreciate support/recommendations. Thank you

I would not use Excel for data analysis of large datasets. Such analyses are prone to error that can often go unnoticed and there are quality issues with Excel's numeric libraries. Analysis of data using Excel is not acceptable by regulatory authorities. I think it is OK for simple analyses but would avoid it for multi-variable analyses. I think that you would be much better off using a package such as SPSS or (for free) EpiData ANALYSIS or EpiInfo.
