Achievements-Public Health and Nutrition

• Established national level coalitions (Nutrition and RMNCH+A) and networking with high level group of policy, program and political leaders, such as Government Ministers, senior representatives from the Planning Commission, the media, NGOs, national and international development partners, UN agencies and the private sector
• Ensured appropriate engagement of Translational Champions for Health and Nutrition, e.g. Professor M S Swaminathan and Charles Dias (Members of Parliament), Ray Chambers (UN Secretary General’s Special Envoy for Malaria and MDG Advocate), Mukesh Ambani (UN Secretary General’s MDG Advocate) and David Nabarro (Special Representative of the Secretary-General on Food Security and Nutrition)
• Provided managerial and technical leadership to ensure effective development and implementation of quality health and nutrition programs with and for the government, civil societies, private sectors, international donor agencies, and technical advisory groups pertinent to project activities in India;
• Managed large projects with an annual budget of up to approximately Rupees 250 crores;
• Represented the organization to donors, government counterparts, NGO’s, and other stakeholders and developed strong collaboration and working relationships;
• Led high level policy advocacy initiatives targeting policy, decision-makers and opinion-shapers;
• Supervised senior project technical and administrative staff;
• Facilitated policy dialogue amongst a range of decision-makers;
• Influenced national Planning Commission in India for more public health nutrition and health budgetary allocation in the 12th five year plan (2012 to 2017) and Universal Health Coverage.
• Supporting Prime Minister Nutrition Advisory Council, Ministry of Women and Child Development and State Nutrition Mission initiatives in Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi
• Planed, coordinated and implemented scale-up of comprehensive package of interventions in public Health and Nutrition arena.
• Developed strong organizational relationships and partnerships with local, national and international government authorities;
• Managed the recruitment and training of program staff to ensure staff are of the quality and capacity to ensure the successful implementation of program and project activities;
• Participated in several global nutrition and health initiatives such as Scaling up Nutrition (SUN), Partnership for Maternal Newborn Child Health (am on the Board and Executive Committee as the India CSO representative), Child Survival Call to Action, G20 meetings and UN General Assemblies on Every Women and Every Child Strategy related Global summits.
