Following the recent WHO two guidelines; Guide on prevention and management of wasting and Complementary feeding, there is an interest by many partners to start the program under different settings. I was wondering if someone share with me any standard performance indicators that helps to monitor the program. I am not referring any assessment that is aim approving or disproving the scientific impact indicators like reduction in anemia, wasting of stunting prevalences that are already acknowledged in WHO guides. what I am looking is an indicator that just showing the program implementation process is moving smoothly towards the intended result. so far, I am monitoring the implementation through assessing the coverage, defaulter, and some caregivers' compliance.
Dear Anonymous,
Apologies for the delay in getting back to you. I had a quick look on the UC Davis website for SQ-LNS: https://sqlns.ucdavis.edu/
- Stage 4. Supervise and monitor the program (Page 30) in the Operational Guide- contains a list of indicators: https://sqlns.ucdavis.edu/sites/g/files/dgvnsk12886/files/inline-files/SQ-LNS%20Operational%20Guidance%20doc_Version%201_June%203%202024.pdf
- There is also some useful information in the FAQ section, which might be helpful if you are not already familiar with them: https://sqlns.ucdavis.edu/FAQs
Hope that helps,
Lucy
